RE 15" in Snail Shell Vs. 12W7 IN JL HO Ported box?

Which will produce more spl? The 15 right.... what would I be getting, db wise, with a snail shell box, and a 15 RE sub with a Hifonics 1800D? Thanks Billy

Personally i think it is impossible to answer that question there are to many factors to think about when comparing one sub to another, here are a few that come to my mind first. The car you are using plays a huge factor in my opinion for instance my stereo was all bought around my car and prob wouldnt sound the same if i put into another car as i have it set up.

power of amp

ohms

size of box

type of box

size of car

type of car

insulation

head unit

and most important is if all was installed and picked out correctly for your car.

anyways how the hell are you gona send 1800 watts to a 150 watt sub?and the w7 will MOLEST the poor re, even if you got a RE 18 .

No this is a serious question.... I have a JL12W7 in a JL Ported HO Box with a Hifonincs 1500 watt amp.... I was wandering what a xxx sub 15" in a snail shell would be? I mean XXX not re, sorry.

IM very aware of what a W7 is i also know that i beat a guy that had 2 13W7's and at the time i had 2 15" RF Punch HX2's

From other XXX vs W7 threads, people say that the XXX will get louder.

lol i'm guilty! i thought you meant the re re series. i'd just stick with your current setup. 1- it'll save you a ton of $. 2- nobody is going to pay the price you want for your current setup. 3- i highly doubt there'll be a damatic improvement over your current setup with your new idea.
