RCA's have affect on stereo performance?

noob question...do the RCA's you used for amplifer(s) create any difference in overall stereo quality?

i ask because i have some audiobahn rca's for my sub amp and the end signals are touching each other (L/R), which makes my subs "pop/jump" when they get in contact. i guess one end somehow got bent. i dont know whether to spend $20 or so for a nice new pair or just wrap one end with electrical tape.

 
The usage of this word seems to be a mystery to 99% of the people that use it.

RCAs don't "affect" your installations, in that they have no "effect" on it.
