rca wiring

Im trying to hook up an amp to a factory monsoon system. Im having trouble with the RCA wiring. I spliced a set of RCA's and connected them straight to the 6x9 speaker wires and it worked. the problem is, I only have the positive wires hooked up, and everytime I shut off the car and turn it back on, it doesn't work. In order to get it working again I have to tap the negative speaker wire once to the positive wire which is hooked up to the RCA. The ground wire on the RCA is not connected to anything. Does anyone have any helpful hints for me so I don't have to "jump start" my sub everytime?

connect the remote wire via the ignition.

I have the remote wire hooked up to a fuse with a switch so i can turn off the amp when i want.

sounds like you ghetto rigged it. Go buy a Line Output Converter to take the speaker level down to line level.
