you sturrin at me brah?
so i was redoing my system yesterday, going from the old pioneer setup to the new alpine, so i go to check if the short rcas i have are long enough to reach my amp from the processor, and as i put it into the input on my memphis, i noticed it was really tight, had to push on it some, not enough that i think thats what damaged it.
it wasnt long enough, so i go to pull it out of the amp, and the outer, copper shroud with the little colored plastic round grommet inside came off. i looked at it, and there are 2 little notches that fit inside the amp to hold it on, i figure no big deal, push it back into the slots in the amp for it and think no more of it.
now my amp will, in addition to playing the signal being sent to it, play something like a turn on thump every second or so... it sucks. vibration seems to make it start or stop, i noticed when i shut the door it would make it either start doing it, or stop it sometimes, or when i move the seats the amp is mounted to.
is this a simple fix, something a local electronics repair shop could do, or something it will need to be sent out for?
