i had posted a different thread about my amps not turning on and i had figured out that problem, something probably burnt up in the power wire because i changed power wire and it worked. But on my Hu I HAVE NEVER used the rear outputs and i bought this HU used. I plugged in the rcas for front and rear to the 4 channel amp and the rears sounded funny. pretty much the right components had no mids and the left components was really soft. SO i plugged in another pair of rcas for the rear, thinking maybe the rcas were bad, and hooked that up and it still did the same thing. Thinking it was the amp, i plugged in the rear outputs in2 the front components and they did the same thing. I am pretty sure that the rear rca ouput on the hu is bad. I bought 2 splitters, one for white and one for red for the front outputs, just as a quick fix until i get funds for a new hu. B4 i used the splitters, the speakers sounded fine, but now, with the splitters, the music is fine but the vocals sound basically like your in a dome, the vocals are soft. Could the splitters have reduced the sound quality enough to ruin the sq of the output? Im going to test them again tomorrow by unhooking the splitters and seeing how they sound and if thats so im just going to buy a new hu.
Now on to the new HU. Any suggestions? I would like to stick with something that has 3 outputs, front , rear, sub. Have a input, ex.=ipod, have a sub control in the hu, a extended eq such as mine now has a low, mid, and high...then it has treble and bass eq. I like more eqs then just basic so i would like an HU that i can tune my speakers well with a different variety of music. I like my pioneer premier but im open to suggestions!
