Rattling, resonating sounds on 2 new MTX

im broke....
Okay I just got done putting my two new MTX 8000's in the trunk of my car in sealed boxes. The boxes are from Wally World (yes I know I should be ashamed.) But anyways I'm pretty n00b to Car Audio so I'm not sure how to describe the sound I hear when they are playing, it sounds kind a paperish rattling noise if that makes any sense. I can only hear it when the trunk is popped and I am standing next to them. Inside the vehicle sounds great. Any idea what may be causing this. I tried polyfil in one of the boxes in case it was too small but I can't tell a difference at all. I would like to figure this out because it is embarrassing to pop your trunk to show someone and all you hear is this nasty rattling noise. Oh and BTW I had 2 Kicker L7's in there before (yes I know a bit of a downgrade) that were ported and I remember them sounding like this from time to time but it eventually went away.

Also forgot to mention a few things, they are mounted inverted if that makes a difference (the baskets were too big and I didn't feel like shaving the box down) I DON'T think that it is tinsel lead snap, and they are running off of a bridged Thunder 564 amp which does 140 watts R.M.S. per channel which I assume is decently underrated.

Please help me out here guys these need to hold me over until I decide between the 9500, XXX, or RL-P. ANy chance they just need to be broken in. I have read running them free air for a while helps break them in real quick. I don't really want to try this though until I get some feedback for fear of destroying my subs.

you are underpowin them, that sound for subs is fine i think. they werent designed to stand next to and listen, they were designed so it sounds better from a distance.

you should be wangin pretty **** decent with those 8500's. Upgrade your amp.

I have one MTX MXS and i just built a new box for it. For one 12" MTX i am fking impressed.

Oh and they are only 8000's not 8500's but yeah I imagine they are still underpowered a bit. Hah if I was running some 8500's I'd be so happy... ah I will dream on.

Is the amp attached to the box? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif There's a guy here at work whose amp wangs more than his sub. I tried to help. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
