Rainbow SLC265

After PM with 6spdcoupe, I plan to get a set of Rainbow SLC265 when the backorder gets in. In preparation, I have ordered deadening from Raammat. Now I need an amp to go with the Rainbows. I'm going to unplug the rear speakers, so I just need 2 channel at 4 ohms. Is there a decent amp in the $100-$150 range that will match well with the Rainbows? Thanks.

ive got mine hoked up to a alpine mrp-f250

haha just noticed ur name too... nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Thanks for replying guys. Hey, 3.5Max6spd, as a way of comparision, what would be an example of a better amp at the low-end of cost? Maybe I can scratch together some more cash. If not, though, the Parts Express amp would still give pretty good resuslts with the Rainbows? Thanks again.

You could get something nicer if you look on ebay or the people selling things on here.

Sorry to say this in your thread but, hey 3.5Max check your pms

get the aura... it's a fine amplifier... I forgot they where still around. I might grab one for a tweet amp... If you save a little more and REALLY dig around you can find nice used amps. I purchased a Zapco reference than did 100x2 for $150 a few months back....

pick up the arc kar. only reason i probably wont buy arc is due to no dealers can ship arc and i dont have a reputable one here that doesnt charge an arm and a leg. arc is top notch even though kar is lowest series. it still great and better then most companies top notch

another quality amp is us amps, and i also like rf amps cause they are underrated alot

Now, I hope you guys can help me once again. I currently have an Infinity Basslink (tried to help the stock speakers sound better and I got it used for dirt cheap) installed. Now that I will have 2 amps (200x1 and 100x2), I guess I need to redo my wiring. From what I've read, I will need to run 4 guage power from battery to a distribution block, 8 guage power from power block to each amp, 8 guage ground from each amp to a ground block, and 4 guage from ground block to chassis. Is all that correct? Is there a better or easier way? Any moderately priced kits that will fit the bill? I'm sure I will upgrade to a better amp and sub at some point, but for right now, the Infinity is fine. However, I don't want to have to run wires again in the future, if possible.

Also, I'm confused about the turn on wire. Do I just split it and run a wire to each amp? BTW, my HU is Alpine 9856, if that is important.

Thanks again for all your help!

Kevin
