it is better from the stand point that they will know exactly where to look for injury as for long term effect no clue until diagnosis.. hopefull you did something to the trapezius muscle which originates at the occipital bone (lower backside of skull) but from the the vision being blurred it doesnt sound like it although pressure could be building on the base of brain and spinal cord... no telling man not a doctor just have know basic knowledge of body.... does it hurt to turn your head from side to side?

From the x-rays he posted it appears as if the bump is protruding from the brain

 
bump cant protrude from brain... skull surrounds the brain...

image 227 shows its on the outside at the base where the trapezius attaches to the occipital bone... but im not a doctor at any rate i have to get back to work... hope everything is okay man really dont listen to me or anyone just to what your doctor says... and keep us updated..
