I wonder if i can ask for some advice please.
I purchased a Sony MEX-BT3900U radio,it was second hand from a friend but ive seen it working many times etc.
Last night i connected it to a small power supply that i have in the garage as i wanted to just see what it looked like in the dark,strange i know,i worked fine no problem.
This morning i pulled out the old radio from my car & using the same wiring it fitted as standard no problem.
I got a whir at start up,it then lit up blue & started to display logos etc etc like it should.
I put a cud in the drive & listened whilst i was fitting its new security cage.
then the unit stopped ?
Pressing on/off source button did nothing.
I wiggled the wires a little but no loose connection etc.
I removed the unit from the car.
I then check the following of which were all present.
12v constant supply
12v switched 12v supply
Earth.
10amp fuse was ok but replaced with new anyway.
I connected the radio again but nothing.
I noticed that if i press the cd eject button then it ejects fine.
If i push the cd then its taken back in but doesnt spin etc,still no display at this stage.
Removed this unit & plugged the original unit back in & working fine.
I then connected it back up to the power supply in the garage but nothing.
I also removed the front panel which doesnt go beep beep when ignition switched off and panel left on.
I pressed and held the reset button for say 3 seconds.
All this made no difference.
Is there an internal fuse etc ?
Any advice as i cant see how i was listening to the cd etc no problem then nothing.
