well, im workin on a 94 chevy suburban, and im tryin to figure out how to install a new head unit it it. I think the dude who has me installin it gave me the wrong dash kit (its a metra 99-4544). also, theres seperate controls on the left, and a tape player to the right. i took the tape player out, and found only 1 plug with 2 wires in it. im still tryin to get the controls out now, which i believe the plugs for those will hook right into the wiring harness. if someone could let me know if that is the right dash kit, thad be very helpful. also, if anyone had any tips, please share. thanks!

Pull the panel out from underneath your steering wheel and look up to the left and you will see a silver box held in by 3 7mm screws, unbolt them and pull the unit down, that is your actual stereo, the piece in your dash is just a controller, on the top of the unit will be your antenna and your wiring harness for the actual stereo,, if you pull the ashtray out you will be able to cut the clip off that is holding the wiring harness down for the casette player
