Radio fuse keeps blowing

I have a 97 ford taurus and my speakers and everything were working fine. For some reason, now whenever i turn up my speakers loud my radio fuse (5A) blows. I thought it was because of the new amp i put in for the subs because that was the first time it did it.. but after trying it with the amp disconnected it still happened. Thank you

Most stock radios are powered by a 10 or 15 Amp fuse. The stock wiring is thick enough to handle the extra current drawn by an aftermarket radio which I assume that you have.

So swap out the fuse with a 10 amp fuse and I bet your problem will go away and you radio will still be safely fused.
