if you were to fly the rebel flag over a southern historical site, such as the battlegrounds of the civil war, that could not be considered racist or un-american in the least bit.

conservatism? I find it funny to think that the south used to be a democratic stronghold. In fact they left because they didn't like Lincoln, who was a republican.
