so in one spot on my rear deck in the trunk i have 3 layers of raammat on there and it keeps coming off all 3 layers. what should i do i keep pushing my hand on it then the bass seems to be knocking it down i am in a sealed box and subs and not firing towards it. I was thinking about duck taping the ends but dont think it will work any idea maybe some strong glue for the trunk?

Like implied above, most likely you did not clean the surface properly before applying the material. 3 layers *should* hold, even upside down. If the surface was clean, dry and smooth... and the mat was rollered on properly, it would have held.

In order for the mat to do its job properly, it must be securely attached to the sheetmetal across its entire surface. The better the contact, the better it works. My point is, if you have to duct tape it to get it to stay, its not doing much anymore anyway.

Replace it. Prep the surface better. Then ask yourself, do you NEED 3 layers? If so, Id recommend going ith a spray that can be layered almost as thick as you want using multiple coats. At some point just stacking mat on top of mat just doesn't work as well.

oh i was sticking more then one layer cause i took out the rear speakers and i covered it up with the mat thats why i used 3 layers cause it was really think across but it should stick cause i made the mat wide enough to cover over half the rear deck before it is even hitting the speaker holes.

and use brake cleaner to prep the surface....
Brake cleaner is hard on paint. Id recommend something a little more mild, like isopropyl alcohol... rubbing alcohol found in virtually any convenience store. I only go with something stronger like brake cleaner if its a particularly greasy area, which is almost never.

Have you tried warming it up with a heat gun (Or hairdryer at least) Getting it warm will make it stickier, so when you press it down, it will stick better

just spend the extra few dollars to do the job right - DYNAMAT EXTREME!!!
lol. Second Skin is cheaper and better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

all 3 layers are separating or the 1 layer isn't stuck to the trunk?

I agree with snoop, re-clean the metal, re-apply adhesive to both surfaces, let them get tacky, press and hold.

you could add a wide head shallow sheet metal screw as a last resort.

(on second thought, that's not that great of an idea, get a good adhesive)

do it right would be for ANY BRAND. dynamat extreme = needless dollars spent.

so true, so true. Usually when I see people with dynamat extreme or boast about having it, I //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Clearly if they understood the properties of how it was built, they'd find a cheaper alternative with a comperable set of qualitites for less.

but then again on a similar perspective, some people can stand having Omni paint and I only buy HOK //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
