is raammat sound deadner easy to work with? i was thinking about getting dynamat xtreme considering it works very well and easy to apply but did some research and seemed members favored raammat and was a overall better choice. can i apply this stuff with a simple roller and scisscors to cut?

this will be my first experience using a deadner in any vehicle.

dynamat extreme is overall easy to work with but i don't like all the cuts when using dynamat. when you cut dynamat the edges are really sharp and its for sure 4-5 cuts when installing with dynamat. on the other hand, raammat is very easy to work with. no sharp edges and it is very easy to work with. also its a great bang for the buck. you get 62 sqft by paying $130 and w/ dynamat you get 36 sqft by paying around $130 as well.

how are the two when it comes to actual sound deadning?
I've heard they both work well and are pretty easy to use...havent used either of em though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I just started my deadener install yesterday using Raammat. I have never used Dynamat but the Raammat is fairly easy to work w/. I live in Texas and it's pretty hot here. The mat did want to stick to everything that it touched but as long is you do not apply pressure, it comes up fairly easy. I was surprised at hou easily it confirms to multiple shapes when using one pc.

I will give a few pointers:

Small pcs are your friend (I originally started using 15in x 2ft pcs and then decided against it).

Have a full box of rubber/ latex gloves or your hands will be covered in black goop.

I used a roller but one is not really needed, just press it down w/ your hands.

Have a fan blowing into your vehicle (again, I live in Texas and it is hot).

Don't think it's going to be a 2 hour job, because it's not unless your just doing two small doors.

Make sure you do not cover any mounting holes that you will need later.

I am doing 3/4's of my ext. truck, so some of the advice would not be needed if your only doing your doors.

I will post some pic's when I'm done.

Very easy to use.....and it sticks!!!!! I have almost 400 sq feet in my truck now for the past couple of weeks in stupid hot weather and humidity and not one piece has pulled......

I love the stuff and wouldn't use anything else

how are the two when it comes to actual sound deadning?
I believe Dynamat Extreme has a slight edge in absolute deadening ability....but it's not a big difference and would likely not really be noticeable, and definitely not worth the difference in price. Raammat is an excellent product, sold by an excellent guy running an excellent company. I've tried other deadeners, and keep going back to Raammat. Nothing else touches it as far as price to performance. There's cheaper deadeners that don't work nearly as well, and there's technically "better" deadeners that are 2x more expensive (and the difference in performance is minimal). But value wise, Raammat's unbeatable.

Plus I don't have a problem supporting someone as great as Rick. A++ customer service, and he's extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of audio.
