Qustion about jl 1000/1 .

I was looking up this jl 1000/1 and it said it can do 1000 W RMS @ 1.5 ohm - 4 ohm is that really true? And are these amp under rated?

Did you work with the jl 1000/1 or did you work with the JL AUDIO 1000/1 V2 ?

i own one of the 1000/1's and they are the real deal, however are current hungry

Yes, it's true that the jl audio does 1000 watts rms from 1.5-4.ohms. However the arc audio ks 1000.1 does 850 watts rms at 4 ohms, 1000 watts at 2 ohms, and 1000 watts at 1 ohm and is almost half the price. And arc audio makes some very quality amplifiers. Also I'm pretty sure arc amps are a little more underrated than the jl's cause I've heard people say that jl likes to keep their amps at what the amp is supposed to do. Some amps like rockford fosgate, I've heard of people pulling 1500 plus watts out of a t1000bd.

JL Audio amps are highly regulated and do rated power pretty much down to the watt! Anyone who says their factory JL Audio 1000/1 is putting out 1,500 watts is WRONG, LYING, or believed the hype of the local JL Audio sales associate.

JL amps are nice amps and do rated power at 1.5 -4ohm which is nice

alpine pdx 1000.1 can do 1000+ @ 1-4ohms too and can be had for 350

i have heard mixed reviews on them. i went to a shop and listened to the pdx4.100 then the jl hd 600/4 both on a set of jl zr comps and the pdx was just lacking something. the jl had a much warmer sound to them.

also i personally think that the mrp line of alpine amps are better. i run the mrp-f600 and am extremely happy with it. i'll be really happy once i have my id comps hooked up to them.

I was considering getting some HD amps but I didn't like what I heard. Something about 'em made me reconsider and I'm cool with my slashv2.
