"Up-firing" subs...

Anyone have any pics of their system in which the subs are firing up? I'm considering doing a single 15" or 18" in my Trailblazer and I want to get some ideas. Actually any pics of custom enclosures in SUVs would be nice. Thanks

That box is ideally what I was thinking. Something that stretches from length to length, but I would want the box to be 1/2-3/4 the height of that one. BTW is that a Trailblazer?

I know it's not rare but I've been searching youtube and this forum and can't seem to find much of what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm using the wrong search words.

all of my systems got the subs upfiring.

But I always have the port exit towards the rear.

Never had any problem. I like it that way because i got some stuff in front of box sometimes so I dont want anything to go into the sub and damage it.

yeah its a trailblazer box isn't that high really it has 3 baffles so that adds to height. its a aq hdc318 box is 44x17x21 2 6" psp aeros batteries are on sides of box.

Like you said about the trunk space... I still want there to be some in mine. That's why I said half the height of the other box, so I could put stuff on top. Or I could do it like you have. What kind of sub is that and what are the specs on the enclosure? And what vehicle?

It is in a 04 explorer.

d amn your box is 3" narrower and you still have a ton of space im envious of that

I told the designer/builder that I want it to be as narrow as possible, I came down to 18 inches. and I wanted it to go from panel to panel lengthwise so obviously I came down to 44" and I dont care how tall it is but I need it to be 3.5 cu ft so it ended up at 17" tall

I thought that I might not be able to get what I want based on tuning but it turned out pretty good with those measurements- didnt have to change anything.

A question for both of you: Where are your amps mounted? And do you have an extra battery or anything else in the trunk?

You can see in the pic the box is sitting on the false floor that I built.

underneath that there are 2 amps- my monoblock zx2500.1, 4 ch zx650.4, crossovers, and cooling fans. There are some pics I posted a while ago, got to dig into that

mine are behind the box 3 layers of .75" mdf again and a few layers of second skin
