"Splitting" 4-channel RCA question

I picked up a 4-channel set of Monster Cable Pro XLN RCAs from a friend for dirt cheap and am using them with my two amps. The problem is that the RCA input for each amp is a good 6" further apart than the cables can stretch. Pic for reference:

Is there any way to cut the shell so the cables can spread further apart or do they bind together at the base of the Y?

I would extend one side with a short one and a connector.

Has anyone ever cut open RCA's before?

Can you just like...cut the middle and connect some extra wire and electrical tape the crap out of it?

Stack your 2 amps ontop of eachother, so the rca inputs are only a few inches apart

Cant split it @ the Y
