"refurbishing" and old amp.

Just got a ZAPCO ag150, its a bit beat up, so i was wondering what I could do to make it look a little nicer.

Like is it worth trying to paint over? How do I go about not painting the printing on it?

i wouldnt repaint that puppy..if you are worried about the looks,you could make an enclosed amp rack with a fan enduction keep it running cool, and present the logo only..thats an original piece,and if you paint it,it will more than likely decrease the value of it,and if have it redone..may cost more than its worth,be more of a sentimental value.you may try some alcohol/cotton rags to get most of it cleaned up/more presentable?? but ya man..i collect amps, and id rather have it all original rather than a refaced one,even if its scared all up...just represents the battle its been through, and still kicking

if that's just packing tape adhesive, it can be cleaned off with wd-40(try not to soak it into the badge) it should rub right off. the white can probably be blended out with automotive paint stick (not touch-up paint, as that shows like poo) the edges of the ends can be touched up with paint pen, and the black with sharpie, and bob's yer unkel. not perfect new, but presentable and non-intrusive.

I'd just clean that tape residue off and call it a day. I think its pretty decent looking, myself.

Im not sure of what the value would be on that amp myself,as ive never dealt with zapco in years,,last time was a few yrs back with a Bostewick black amp with a zapco emblem on it..that one i should have kept..pm me,for approx. what kind of power looking for/needed,maybe i might have something in my pile..yet,i know i have several amps that are more powerful/cleaner clarity wise/heatsink,than the amp you have here,that would make you happy..ill be straight up,and fair,as i have always been with you,as ive always been throughout the years...no bs is what i like/way i am/old schooler,so im not out to make a buck..i just like to collect/and try different things out..that amp to me is worth anywhere from approx $75+shipping-approx $125-shipped max..my opinion,but just pm me,and see if /what we can work out..id kinda like to have that amp for some reason..lol..i thank you sir
