"modified" Fisher Customs and Sexy 8's PICS

:crap:
So if you saw my other thread you know why I decided to cut the box.

If you don't....The box BJ built is perfect, the issue is with the underside of my seat and the bracket the seat leg attaches to.

I would have to cut a welded bracket to fit this under. I decided not to do that, but to cut the enclosure in two.

**BJ Fisher offered to refund some money because of this, I denied the money**

**This had nothing to do with BJ's awesome enclosure building skills, this was an oversite on my part***

Anyway........

How it would have looked

Now I'm gonna try all of these and see which ones sound best.

I'm betting on the AA Assassins. Loudest probably the RF's...

But who knows. Hopefully they are all close to the same mounting diameter so I can resue the same hole pattern and use T-Nuts and bolts to mount them as to not wear out the holes.

I have never heard any of these subs ever.

Power will be provided by a PG Xenon 1200.1 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Rockford's RFD2208 HX2 dual 4's 400/800

Eclipse 87081.4 single 4 300/600

Ascendant Assassins (old style) single 4 350/450?

I thought about DD's but I was lead to believe that they would like a ported box, not sealed.

All of these will work well in a sealed box about this size too.

I'll be choosing one pair of the 8's and selling the others.

From everything I've read the AA's are some great subs.

To be fair though there isn't that much info about the HX2 8's and same for the eclipse subs.

AA's are impressive little subs, especially when they were $50 each. Ran a pair in 1.2^3 @ 40Hz and they sounded very good & hit pretty hard.

You sure you don't have room to go ported with them? I've got a "spec" box you can have if you pay for the shipping...

Uh, you saw in the first pics where I had to cut the box in half? And that box was custom designed to fit under the seat. Thanks anyway, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the room, believe me I've tried.

I am interested in these if you decide to part with them.

Subscribed since I want to run a pair of 8's. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

What is wrong with t-nuts? Never used them and I am curious the downside to using them. Are "hurricane" nuts any better? http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=081-1084
T-nuts have a nasty reputation for backing out whnen you try to loosen the bolt, instead of holding into MDF, hence having to saw your box open to remove your speaker. Ive had this happen to me, but didnt have to saw my box up at least I guess. Was still a pita.
I dont know if hurricane nuts are prone to this in MDF also. Never used them.
