"lowest" 12s?

skars do go low. most any TC sound drivers as well
+3

Great sounding subwoofers there. I have two of the TC1000 12" subs sitting in my RE SE boxes right now. The sound quality is great with them, especially if you can land an TC2+ Motor. At one time, that was one of the SQ motor boner on this message board. That was a while ago.

If you are wanting to go with SQ, then the TC Sounds subs are a great choice and they do infact dive down REALLY LOW. Im not sure how well they would do in a ported box. I was throwing 700 watts rms in a relatively smaller sealed box in my truck. Alot of people use TC Sounds subs with the TC2+ motor for a custom home theater system. Why? Because they play extremely low and have extremely low distortion level. I plan on reconing them some day and use them for my home theater system. I would tune the boxes down to around 20-24hrtz.

I swapped them out once I blew them, they wiggled lose and decided to go free air on me. Used the wrong screws. I have learned since then. So I replaced them with two 12" RE SE's and I like the SPL out of those better. They are in a smaller box in my crew cab Sierra. I know they want more airspace.

I must have missed where those are $200 or less. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
Also, I assume the OP is in the market for a 12"er due to space restrictions.
279 certified used on the ssa site. go big , at home , for 100 less than regular price. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well two of them sorry forgot to mention
Im a little confused here. In your original post you said you wanted a sub under $200. I took that as in you were going to run 1 12" sub, but after reading the rest of the thread, it looks like you are after 2 12's. Are you wanting to spend up to $200 per sub or is the $200 budget both of the 12's?

I ran a single RE SX (Not the "new" RE SXx.) 15" sub. Its been a while since I had this setup, but It was in a pretty huge box. I think I had it tuned around 30hrz. I was running a JBL BP1200.1 which was slightly underrated. So I was throwing around 1300-1350 watts rms at it. That was the hardest low hitting subwoofer I have ever had and I have had probably about 10 different subwoofer combinations. It split my spoiler in my Grand Am GT. The insane lows hit so hard, if you looked at my trunk lid, it looked like it was walking.

There is no difference in the Resonant Engineering SX and the Resonant Enginering SXX. They are the exact same sub. I wish RE Audio would have actually made some changes to their RE, SR, SX, and SE subs. Instead, all they did was put a rubber surrounding around the motor. Thats why the mounting depth is different, but you can always take the rubber magnet condom on and bamo, you got the same RE SX and more mounting depth.

RE SX

The RE SXx has a thermal power handling of 1000 watts rms, but they can take more. The SX is meant to be a SPL subwoofer. It doesnt have that great of Sound Quality, but boy did that boy get low.

RE SE's

If you are looking for some SQ, but with some SPL, I recommend the RE Audio SE's or also known as the RE SE 'x's. I have a pair of RE SE 12's in my truck, they hit low for being in such a small sealed box. I know if I were to put those 12's in a bigger sealed box, that would get them to hit harder and louder. If I could put those in a ported box, that would be ideal and insane.

Are you after SQ, SPL, or a combination of both? You could pick up a pair of used RE SE's or RE SX's, depending on what you are trying to achieve.

^^ the reason i said one sub in my first post is b/c i just wanted to know a certain sub that costs that much and i was gonna buy two of them. So id like to keep the budget of both subs around 400ish max..For what the skars do and how much they are, gotta love em...also refer to sig //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
