jsut got my new sub ( a good one finally) but when i play it on my alpine 605 (the 1000 watt mono amp) reall loud the sub cuts out and the amp's LCD read "CUR".. what does this mean>?

IF your wondering, im running a RE se 12" sub, at 2 ohms.

thanks.

That message is for overcurrent. I am not that familiar with this model amp. What ohms is it rated to be stable at? Make sure you are not overloading it.

From what you have described, it sounds like it is being overdriven.

ok, i just got back from a friends party and thought id check up on the thread, so i appologize for my grammer mistakes i am about to indure:yumyum:

I did a bit of research and i found out that this reading IS a current over load.

But, for some reason this isnt happening anymore, so forget anything i said in the first post. now, the sub is making a wierd "topping out" noise.. and i cant figure out why. Even at medium volumes the sub makes a "thunk, clink clink clink" noise at the top of excursion (aque, i have no other way to describe it). I dont understand why, i know that its not being over powered. so what else could cause it to top out? Is it damaged? Could a voice coil be defective?

meh.. ill sleep on it, any opinions?
