I am in the process of installing a permanent system in my 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV. I have installed my HU (Pioneer DEH-P580MH) and I have made some temporary wire runs to the trunk. I say temporary because when I started this I was going to just run a HU and 4 speakers, with a small amp for a sub. As soon as I got into it, I went with a 4-channel amp, comps in the front, and a bigger sub. I HAD run a single 8-gauge pwr cable to the trunk, and for signal I TEMPORARILY ran RCAs through the center of the car (well away from the 12+ wire). I am about to route my 4 gauge permanent power wire and to permanently run my RCAs.
I have a Bazooka in the car while I set up the rest of my system, and when the vehicle's fan turns on or off, I get a slight "bump" through the sub. I have no other engine noise and no system turn-on thump.
Is this most likely a 12V problem (meaning I need to re-route the 12V+) or is it a signal problem (meaning re-route RCAs)? OR could it be that the signal cable is picking up interference where they pass close to the HVAC controls in the dash?
