can i connect power and ground to an amp from a battery, and not have the amp come on until the remote signal arrives?

or will the amp come on because there is power and ground?

im not sure, good question. im guessing it wont turn on unless the remote wire isconnected thru the HU.

The remote is what tells the amp to come on.

Make sure you fuse that power wire from the battery!!!!!!!!!!!! As close to the battery as you can.

your remote wire is what turns your amp on, you will be fine as long as you fuse your wire like said earlier

uh yeah... you can have power and ground on the amp as long as you want and it won't turn on. that's what the remote wire is for

Please tell me this is a joke. You've spent almost two years on this forum and don't know this? How the hell do you think the amp gets power if you don't hook it up to the battery? Running the ground straight to the batt will just give youa better ground. But it won't be any different than a chassis ground except for the increased current flow.

Now if you hooked the turn-on wire up to the battery, then your amp would always be on.

If you dont have anywhere to run the remote wire than you can run it in with a fuse that only gets power when the car is on
