First a little background: I live in Chile so my amp variety is scarse...everything is filled with sony, lanzar, etc brands, and the good stuff is at least 2-3 times more expensive then in the states.
I just bought a kicker L7 and I need an amp to push it, and all the amps for sale here are at least $1200 for the 750rms needed.
Now I found 2 used ones and I dont know which I should get:
Rockford Fosgate 851S, capable of 850rms x1 at 1ohm or 215 rms x2 at 4ohm
Genesis Series III Competition, capable of 500rms x1 at 1ohm
I know Genesis is a very good brand, hand built in England and stuff. I will probably never run the sub at full power, so I have to decide to either get an amp that can push 100%+ or a quality one that can almost do the job
The Genesis comes factory rated at 640, which is good enough for me. The RF's are almost always underrated so I guess it might reach 1000rms someday.
I can get both at the same price, what would you do in this situation?
