I know how u guys love these kind of threads. So...

15 Inch Maxtrix Elite and New Magnum. Im pretty sure the Magnum is going to have more sq and low end but in general what u guys think?

Also the specs on the website say the ME 15 only needs 1.75 cuft. Would this be suffienct for this thing to work well?

Hmmm, I would almost get the 15" ME just because hardly anyone is going to have that. Especially if it is cheaper. In terms of sound though, the new mag is going to be capable of much more linear excusion and would most likely be the louder of the two.

Actually, thats not true. The new mag has a 24 mm xmax and the Oz has a 25 mm xmax. So they are both capable of roughly the same amount of linear excursion.

As far as which you will prefer the sound of, no one really knows... it all depends on you.

yea i was looking into those specs also. From what im kinda seeing is that the ME will be slightly quicker but the Mag can also be quick but have killer low end also. I mainly listen to rap so the low end stomps must pound. Maybe the Mag is the better sub

I can't comment on the Matrix as I have no experience, but I can tell you right now that the MAG will not work very well in 1.75 cubes if you are stuck on that. I would go no smaller than 2 cubes sealed on the new drivers.

Also, it's hard to do a comparison to the old Mags, and not many have any experience with the newest offerings. I thought it couldn't be improved upon, but my new driver is a totally different animal compared to the previous drivers. I loved everything about my old one, but the new one just does everything better.

You also are not going to get a new 15" anywhere near $250, so they Matrix is looking like the best bargain. Knowing it's past and the buildhouse, I don't see how it can be a bad choice. I'd up the extra cash for the MAG, but you could say I am biased. This is not without merit though. I think you'll be pleased no matter which you choose.

Keep your eyes peeled too as there will a "special" person competing with some of our drivers. The SQ is already there, but now we'll get some real-world results on how they do with SPL.

I know a few people running the new Mags in the lanes...and yeah, they get mildly loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

louder than me...wait, that's not surprising...

Oh really? I guess I just saw the prototype a few months ago and figured that they were going to go with a higher excursion driver. Also, about the mag not being as "quick" as the ME...that has way more to do with your enclosure than the sub. If you have room, sometimes they have 12" ME on ebay in the $150 plus shipping range...two of those would be nice and loud.

I think I can fit about 2.5 cubes net sealed for a 15 sub. I just have to make sure I can fit the 15.5 height in the trunk. The depth and width will be fine tho. Also how much are the new mags going for?

dual 2 ohm pwns tho. For 1 driver u wire it to 1 ohm. 2 Drivers get a 2500.1 amp and wire it to 2 ohms. U win every time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
