quick, simple question

Before taking out any wires from my head unit, i know i need to take out the fuse of my amp power cable that is hooked to my battery. But do i unplug the power cable from the battery first or do i take the fuse out first?

My installer spliced the amp's remote turn on wire into the power antenna lead (blue cable.) I am trying to splice the remote turn on wire into the blue cable with a white stripe because I believe this is the correct route. Right know the amp only turn on with the radio. All I want to know is if I need to disoonnect my amp's fuse before making changes to the connections. Thanks.
