Quick question

Only tones are recorded in 0db afaik. Music varies and will go from -3 down to the -20s. Most of the songs that I have done a spectrum analyzer on in Audacity peak around -8db to -12db
Thats what i wanted to hear.. I was playing around in Audacity but I didnt really know what I was looking at but now i see it. So why does JL tell you to DMM off a 0db track. Hell why does JL do half the stuff they do

They are probably just playing it safe. It also helps their amps play very clean. If you set them up they way they say, their amps will almost never clip.
