is there a ratio between Lv and Vb? I was just wondering because i was tooling around on my graphing calc earlier and i was noticing huge increases in Fb with just a little increase in port width.so are there any ratios between box size, port length and height/width? thanks.

anything changed changes something else....dont know about a specific ratio. but if u increase width and height, you increasing length along with it at the same frequency......so i guess if u drop frequencies and add area, your gunna have a more drastic change.

It completely depends on the size of the port. Changing the width of a port by a "little" can mean a lot of things.

To be more clear, if the change in the width produces a substantial change in the overall area of the port then it will substantiall change the tuning of the port.

Even more basically because I'm not bridging all the gaps in what I'm saying is that if you change the width of a 2x17 port by .25" then you add 12.5% of the port area which is substantial and can drastically change the tuning.
