(quick question) What size fuse do I need in this fuse holder?

So just the one amp? If so add up the fuses on your amp, so if its 2 x 35a fuses put in a 70, some people will say use something higher like 150a and that should be fine I guess.

Fuse to the size of the power wire or smaller. What size power wire are you using?
x2 the amplifier it self should have fuses to protect the guts. This fuse is to prevent your power wire from catching on fire.

Actually the fuse in the fuse holder near the battery should be half the current rating of the amplifiers full power current draw.

For example if the amplifier made a total of say 600 watts RMS (full power RMS)and it is a normal Class A/B power amp then the current draw should be around 100 amps at 12 volts. Therefore you would use a 50 amp fuse in the fuse holder near the battery.

This is a general rule of thumb, but it depends on many things, voltage drops (if any), actually power out (not rated, - measured), etc.

But generally this is a good place to start.

No fuse will ever protect the amplifier. PERIOD. On the amp, before the amp, makes no difference as the time constant is to long compared to a transistors typical failure mode.

Umm... i dont think ur correct sir. my monoblock has 1 80 amp fuse. Before i was running it at 4 ohms with 60a fuse by battery and they never broke. I then ran it at 1 ohm, and i kept blowing fuses so i uped into a 90a fuse and haven't blown any yet.
