quick question on the Alpine ida-x100

hey everyone i bought my headunit a while back and everything worked fine. But the cable it came with is breaking apart, not working correctly and sometimes even restarting my iphone. so heres my question since its a USB, is there any way i can buy something to connect to that usb and play it with my iphone? or do i have to buy complete cable and hook it up to the back of the head unit? I've read that the most of the cables do not charge the iphone is there any cable that can charge the iphone? id rather not buy a replacement because the wire seems so weak.
