At my fraternity house I am going to try to hook up and amp and a sub from the receiver in our party room.

I am going to hook up the "rear out" rca's to the amp.

I am gonna get a battery charger and use 3 batteries as the power supply.

How exactly could I hook up the remote wire to the receiver? And will this work?

Amp will prolly be pulling at least 1200 watts or so....

why would you not do that?
Well, first off, home receivers output very little signal voltage as opposed to an aftermarket head unit. Secondly, batteries vent sulfuric acid gasses and if this is inside of a dwelling you have your guests breathing that to contend with.

And finally having 3 batteries wired in parallel inside of a house is a terrific fire hazard if they were to somehow be shorted out. When people are partying accidents have been known to happen.

All you need is a On/Off switch, Rocker, Push button etc. going to the remote.

I would not let a flame or spark get close. I seen one explode and it sounded like a 10ga shot gun going off.
