Quick question about sub box

Got a friend that has a single Boston Acoustics G3 10" sub. Sub specs say to use .5 air space in a sealed enclosure. Will it make a difference if the box has .7 air space? Or is it best to get a box with the .5 air space? Thanks

Sorry should of mentioned, will have 400watts goin to it. Buying the box already made, cause I **** at building boxes! To make sure I am understanding you about the sub displacement, is the amount of air space the sub itself takes up? If so, then no. I forgot all about that.

If you are buying a prefab enclosure then before you even use it, reseal the seems inside the enclosure. You will be fine with that enclosure, after displacements you will be around .7 or .65..something in that area anyway.

Okay thanks I will def do that. How do you find out the displacement of the sub? I looked at the specs for the sub, but I didn't see it listed.
