So I want to build a box for a sundown sa 8 v2, here are the measurements of the box I plan to build:

Overall:

Height= 10.5 inches

Width= 28 inches

Depth= 16 inches

---------------------

Actual wood size:

Front and back = 9 x 28

Top and bottom size = 16 x 28

One side Wall = 10.5 x 16

Wall on port side = unknown

Port size= unknown

What I want to know is it okay to make just make a straight I shaped port or is a L shaped port really required, if its possible to use a straight shaped port how long does the piece have to be to get 35hz, I am not good at using a subwoofer calculator to determine the port so that is why I am asking for help.

Here is a picture of the design I plan to build:

That box is too big at 2 ft^3 gross and even after port area, displacement, bracing etc still being way more than Sundown specs say Ported 0.5-0.75 ft^3 @ 35hz and from what I have read say not to go any larger that. Others in here would be better at giving you a good box design than me.

Yeah, I can't find gold connectors anywhere online anymore. Amazon Canada only carries brass or "red" copper. I was gonna get the Glark's set with...

LOL - mine was a higher end model too - iirc deh-9300. Low mileage too, it was sitting around for year collecting dust.
