quick question about mono amps.

Im just wondering if it is good to hook my two 12" kenwoods to a mono amp or would that do any harm? And also if i am able to hook my subs up to my amp. would this be a good one to do it with: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14736 ? FYI, my subs are 400 watts rms and they are single 4 ohm. So with that, would i have 2 ohm load now? The amp rates that it pushes 800 watts rms x1 @ 2ohms. Now that wattage would get split in half going to two subs and id be getting 400rms to each or am i wrong? Thanks for the help, i am kind of new to this.

Wire them in parallel and this will present a 2 ohm load to the amp. Wiring them in series will present a 8 ohm load to your amp.

Using the speaker terminals on the sub box as a starting point, run a pos and neg wire from this to one sub. Then run another pos and neg wire from the sub box terminals to the other sub. With this, the power will flow to the speaker terminal on your sub box and then have a "choice"- it can flow to sub 1 or sub 2. This "fork in the road" is the basics behind parallel circuits. Series circuits only provide one path for the power to flow.
