quick question about amps

Ok i was looking at some amps the jl 1000/1 the elemental design nine.1...some hifonics bx1500 etc.... and i notice for the jl n elemental......they rated there amps from around 11-14v.....and the hifonics 14v.......so does that mean the amps that run at there RMS power at 11v vs. one at 14v has less of a strain on the electrical compared to the ones that has to run at 14 for full rms?????Thanks for any replies also whats some other amp companies that rate there amp full rms at lower than 14v.....?

IIRC elemental designs rates their amps at 12 volts, so you will get a little more power at 14.4. JL has a regulated power supply so they do their RMS pretty much from 11-14.4, and i think Hifonics is rated at 14.4 but im not sure on hifonics.

For the JL 1000/1, read up on R.I.P.S. Whatever the ohm rating is from 1.5ohm to 4ohm and regardless of the wattage from 11 to 14.4, the amp still puts out the same rated power. Pretty sweet stuff if you ask me.

but think of what it could do at 1 .5 ohms if it wasnt regulated but it probably would over heat

if it wasn't regulated, it would do 1000W at 1.5ohms... 4 ohms is where the drop would be.
