quick question about acoustic tube ports

i just got my 6" aero ports from parts express today and im going to be tuning tonight for the comp on sunday

my question is this :///

when tuning the port is it longer= lower hertz , shorter = high hertz

or is it the other way around

umm, you ever hear of a port calculator? But your GENERAL assumption is right...
