i want to try and switch it over and ive never done is so ive been reading about it.

is it the switch on the side that gets you there?

and i know this can change the RCA to high/mid/sub but i have speakers all around on a 4 channel amp. if i put it in pro mode will this just give me high signal to the front, mid the the back and keep the subs? cause that wont sound right. is there a way i can leave the RCA outputs how they are now and just get all the other settings?

thanks

ok, curiousity got the best of me so i went out there and pulled the HU and flipped the switch. turned it on and.....nothing is different? all the menus and options are the same. my speaker output is all the same. what am i missing?

The menus should be different, you sure you pushed the switch all the way over (I don't mean to ask stupid questions, just making sure)? Under the audio menu, there should be a lot more different functions you can adjust like level/phase/crossover/slope for the high/mid/low, 6ch time alignment, etc.

The purpose of promode is to run an active 2-way front stage, so if you're keeping your passive x-over I don't really see a big benefit there.

well there does not seem to be anything different. still just fhpf, rhpf, slpf, 5ch alignment (well maybe 6, but its always been like that) all the slopes are the same too.

when i pushed it i heard it click and looked at it and it was over there. i dunno. ill chack it again today.

On the fader/balance menu, can you still fade front to back? In promode, I can only change the balance left to right, there's no fader. Maybe check that.

yes, i did check that becuase i wanted to see if the all speakers were still getting mid and high. all were working like normal. im home now so im going to go out and check it out.

edit: ok, i went out and tried it again. still nothing. i switched it wil the unit off, then tried switching it with the unit on. im still getting nothing. do i have to reset the unit after the switch?

edit #2: haha, i found my solution. more searching and reading thread lead me to this post:

Its on the side of the unit but you also have to reset the unit after doing so for it to take effect.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
i was right. i just didnt want to reset if i didnt have to. thanks adam, even if you never read this!!

ok, i got it to work. it is sweet! now the problem is that i have all my mid in the rear all my high in the front. i expected that. now, is there a way i can wire the crossovers so i can get this to run the right way. all 4 speakers are components. or is there a way i can do it without wiring the tweets straight to the amp? thanks

you have to rewire it so that channels 1 and 2 push the tweeters and 3 and 4 push the midrange(woofer). if your running component which is what you should be running with pro mode you will discard the passive crossover box.

yeah, thats what im planning on doing now. i have 4 tweeters in the front so i may leave the the crossovers on the tweeters only just so it can run both tweeters and not run my ohm load under 2. then just wire all the woofers directly to the amp. sounds like a plan. should be fun. maybe this weekend!

if anyone else has any ideas for my setup, let me know.

thanks a lot for all the help and helping me actually realize i had this feature after having the deck for 7 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
