Quick question: 1ohm vs 2ohm

I know it all depends on the amp but in theory are 1 ohm amps more efficient then 2 ohm amps ?

1 ohm stable Class D amps will generally be more efficient when run at 2 ohms.

If you get a 2 ohm stable amp, it's generally either a class A/B, crappy, or a (more than you can afford) 10kw+ amp. A/B amps are significantly less efficient than Class D... so I wouldn't go down that road.

If efficiency is your only goal, Class D's at 4 ohm can get er dun at 85% eff. Think Sundown, US Amps, and other mid to high-end companies.

Thanks. Kicker makes class D amps they are rated at 2 ohm. I was asking because im looking into the zx1000.1 or zx1500.1

Kicker amps do under what they are

rated with impedience rise and voltage.

Now sundown do wayyy over their ratings.
