if u had 2 high wattage subs such as 1500 watts rms and 2 subs with 500 rms an they were getting 500 watts a piece the 2 with 500 watt rms would beat harder right?

Theres absolutely no sense in powering 2 1500 rms subs with only 500 watts a piece.

Match the power you have with drivers that have the right rms.

Tell him he's an idiot.

A driver's RMS rating is a thermal rating, it just shows how much power the coil should be able to handle without failing. It has no correlation to overall performance.
