I just bought a 15"type R and a 1000 watt power akoustic mono block amp and I need to decide on my H/U. I was thinking the Alpine CDA-9883. Does anyone have an opinion how well that might work for my system? Apreciate the help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Also, how is Ample for subs? I never heard of it, but my buddy has a pair of 12" 500watt ample subs he'll sell me cuz i might be getting a second car, in which case i will want a second system!

stick with alpine, for the HU and subs, but I would look into a different amplifier personally.
hmm really? how come? someone reccommended it to me. What kind do you suggest instead? thnx //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

considering that power acoustik (not akoustic) used to be owned by audiovox (who also produces such fine products as jensen, code alarm, and advent), and are now owned by a company that is buying up has been car audio companies to try and revive them, I would be hesitant to buy or install their products. Epsilon electronics started out as a PCB manufacturer, but now owns PA, farenheit, Kole audio, and the dying remnants of soundstream.

I would ebay that shit and get a decent amp, alpine, kicker, rockford, etc. Reason being, quality of sound. These amps are designed to put out power with no limits, no consideration on quality of sound. my 227 watt factory tested 5th channel on my alpine MRP-F357 will sound infinately better (with properly built box) then some claimed "1000 watt rockwood / power acoustic / enter name here" amp with 50% or more parasitic power draw and heat loss. Not to mention realized and unrealized distortion. You also must consider the quality and reputation of said products. Take alpine, they purposely rate their amps lower then actual output for competitors. But when you get it and notice the certificate of operation, the amp puts out much more (called the cheater method in competition - days of old!!)

As far as a HU - alpine - get whatever you can afford.

ah, i see. Thanks for the info on that. My bad on the miss-spell of the brand lol. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
