just hooked up a used JVC cd player in my car... when ever my trunk is open everything is fine

but when im riding down the road and the bass hits, it kinda cuts out... its hard to explain but when the same song is playing with the trunk open everything works fine

what could it be?

maybe its the cd player?

is the CD reader in the trunk? Cuse if it is it's possible that the bass in the condensed space of the trunk shakes the CD reader too much and it skips sometimes, but when u open the trunk the pressure gets out.

but then again........ What?!??!!?!?

This kid is an idiot, so he probably did put it in the trunk, lol! Maybe he hooked up a tv under his car too after he watched pimp my ride. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

thanks again for showing just how mature you are

cd player is mounted in the front deck... it replaced a sony with the jvc, was thinking it was an upgrade... had no problem with this when i had the sony in

pull it out and redo all your connections. so it's the deck that is loosing power or is your music just cutting out? could be a bad ground on the amps, or your amps are shutting off cause there is not enough juice. could also be your electrical system is so bad your headunit looses power on heavy bass notes

sounds like the only reasonable thing... double checked the wiring on the cd player, ground is good, amp isnt cutting off nor is the h/u

its like the bass clicks off for a split second a few times

but the deck doesn't cut out? sounds more in your amps then the deck. do your lights dim?

Did you rewire the subs? Is the amp going into protect or is the CD player turning off?

The first system I built I used 2 4ohm DCV subs on a 2ohm stable amp. It would cut out on bass heavy songs.

Oh, sounds like a voltage issue, I was too fixated on the trunk being opened causing it to play good. I say check all your wires, I had this problem twice. Once it was that the RCAs were not tight enough. And the other was a dying battery.
