On vehicles with removable or convertible walls or panels, all equipment and all parts of the
enclosure must remain inside the passenger area and may not protrude into or be located in an
open air “bed” or other storage area not covered by the same roof that covers the passenger
area. Jump seats in the cargo area, behind the “B” pillar, and below the lowest window may be
removed.
I have an 89 Volvo Wagon, with a lockable compartment in the trunk and no spare tire in the compartment on the side of the trunk hidden by a removable panel.
Am I interpreting the rule correctly in that I cannot place amplifiers in the lockable compartment, nor can I install batteries in the spare tire compartment?
