If you haven't seen my project, here's a link: Project: Taurus Log

I'm getting annoyed with my fiberglass amp rack... Partly because fiberglassing is no fun, partly because I'm wishy-washy about mounting my amp on my trunk lid.

I have a 1500D coming in within a week, so I'll have to make room for the 1500D even if I go with the fiberglass amp rack on my trunk lid.

So, I have a question:

Do I...

1) Trash my fiberglass amp rack and do a false floor.

-or-

2) Keep my fiberglass amp rack and find room for my 1500D elsewhere.

Any other input would be helpful and greatly appreciated! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm just not liking the idea of having one of my amps on my trunk lid and the other one elsewhere. I don't really like the idea of having one on my trunk lid at all anymore.

What if I slam the trunk lid too hard?

What if there's a lot of rattle?

I don't know. Thats why I need your guys' opinions!

As long as the rack is secured to the lid, and the amp to the rack, then I don't see where you'll have a problem. Keep in mind that you have somewhat delicate electronics on that lid when you close it, and you shouldn't have any problems.

I think you should put the most cosmeticaly appealing amp on the trunk lid, then hide the other.
Thats the thing, the 1500D won't fit in the amp rack in the trunk lid... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Paul suggested to me that I make a false floor for both amps, and attatch the false floor to my spare tire cover... I thought it was an excellent idea.

Any more input?

Well, i voted trash, just because i woudlnt feel to comfortable mounting it on the trunk lid. I like false floors though.

BUT, if your close to fnishing or finished why not give it a shot, at least try(if your close). I dont mean finished as paint/carpet/vinyll wise but finished as in workable. See if it rattles or if you liek the look, post pics //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Put a lcd monitor in there!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif pimp my ride style.. haha j/k

I would trash it.. just my opinion though. What if your trunk lid doesn't stay up, becasue its too heavy?? and what if you have something in your trunk and you forget about the clearance and then close your trunk, ruining your setup??

Allright, as of now, I have the amp rack bondo'd and sanded w/ 60 grit. I'll mount it with some screws and take some pics. See how I like it.

I'll post the pics tonight sometime.
