Question on wiring 4 channel line out converter

New to car stereo, so please forgive my ignorance...

I bought a 4 channel amp (Kicker ZX850.4) and am planning to bridge the rear to a sub and the fronts to my components.

I also bought a 4 channel line out converter to hook up to my factory HU.

The question is because I have a factory sub.

If I wire the rear speaker outputs from my HU to the line out converter and use this for my amp to power the bridge rear sub, will this work?

Thanks for your help.

What kind of car is iy? Also you would be better off the re[place the factory radio than to use a Line out converter. To anwser you quesion you will tap into ll wires for the rear speakers for the line out. The line out gives you a high level volatge to a low level voltage input for an amp. You will switch the rear channel of the amp to low pass and bridge the output wires. You just wire up the lineout normaly

car is a tahoe. If i understand right, it sounds like the amp doesn't care what the HU is outputting to the RCAs, as long as they are separate from the fronts?

Also, should I just cut the factory sub wire?

Finally, where can i find details on how to wire the rear for "bridging" to my sub?

Um well if you go with a aftermarket HU then you will be able to control the system better and get better sound. Most after market HU will have three sets of RCA outputs Front rear and sub out. The wire for the sub is done on the amp. If you look at it there should be some swithces for making the rear channel of the amp low pass. The what you will do run speak wire from the sub to the fear left + of the amp and rear right - of the amp. I'm not sure if the 850.4 will allow this

Please help, I took the HU off today and according to the diagram below, I assume these colors should be coming out of the back of the HU.

Instead, there is no yellow, there are three dark green and two light green.

How do you know which wires to use for the line out converter?

Radio 12v orange + radio harness

Radio Ground black - radio harness

Radio Ignition dk. green + radio harness

Radio Illumination brown + radio harness

Factory Amp Turn-on orange + radio harness

Notes: The amplifier is behind the glove box.

Power Antenna N/A

LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness

RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness

LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness

RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness

I hooked up my line out using the stock amp wiring plug. It was a pain and not worth it. I wanted to keep the factory look but the sound ended up being sub par. I replaced the HU with a Clarion DVD (looks stock) and my system sounded 100 x better. Just my opinion. I went thru a lot of work for nothing!
