Question on Installation

Hi Guys!

I have a 1994 Ford Mustang.

A few years back I had an Alpine head unit installed at a Circuit City I believe.

This month the cd cut out and stopped working and I'm tired to listening to the radio

So I went looking for a new head unit and I found one online for a nice price.

And I was just wondering with a head unit previously installed is it simply take out the head unit and basically replace the wires to the new head unit?

The new head unit is a Sony MEX-1GB.

Or will I need a new mounting kit and have to work with putting in new wires etc.

Thanks!

Is the Alpine the Sony is replacing a single-Din or a Double-DIN? (I'm not familiar with the dash of a '94 Mustang)

If both are single-DIN it should be a matter of sliding out the Alpine, splicing the Sony's wiring to a harness adapter, plugging it all in and sliding the Sony's mounting sleeve into the appropriate space and then shoving the HU into the sleeve - done!

Yeah they both look the same size.

So just take it out splice a few wires and slide the new one back in.

Thanks for the replies guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
