Question on impedance

I want to wire 2 10 inch DVC 6ohm subs to a 2 channel amplifier. I'm trying to get a way to wire them that would put the ohm level at the amp at 2 or higher, the closer it is the better.

This is what I'm thinking:

If I wire the negative terminals of the voice coil on the first sub together, and the negative terminals of the voice coil together, and then connect the wires before they get to the amp and wire them into one channel. Then again, wire the positive terminals from each voice coil on the sub to the other, then connect both subs wired this way to eachother, and connecting the final wire to the amplifier.

Follow that?

I'll try to do something in paint if need be, but what would this set the ohm level at for the amp?

You can't wire DVC 6ohms close to 2 ohms, unless you wire them to a combined 1.5 ohm load and hope the amp and impedance rise take care of the other half ohm...

soooo I can't get em to 3 ohms then. Thats what i'm taking that as. 1.5 ohms is messing up something with my system, like bad. I have tried a couple variations now, and all of them make the the subs either almost unaudible (if i change the frequency i can get stuff above bass to come through em, but thats not what they are intended for) or they will actually make this popping noise, like its hitting against something ..

A new 1.5 ohm stable amp is your only option to cure this problem. sorry.
