Question On Gain

I finally got my subs and amp installed on friday and the shop that I got it done at set everything for me. But the bass is a little to much even with the bass at -5 on my HU. Do I just turn down the gain for less bass? Because right now the bass is so much it drowns the music out. Also, they put the bass boost up a little should that be off?

unplug the bass boost, it should make a pretty big difference

The bass boost is not hooked up. The bass boost I was talkin about is on the amp itself. The amp is a kicker KX 1200.1. So is it ok to just turn the gain down so that the bass isnt so loud or will that hurt something?

If you aren't using bass boost, then yes, turn the gain down a little.

Turning the gain down will never hurt anything.

It's turning the gain too high that can be potentially damaging.

gain down ftw. just keep turning it counter-clockwise until you're satisfied
