Okay got a brand new set of copper coil 12'' HD3's in a ported boc tuned to around 33 Hz.

Now I just hooked them up and im running around 600 watts to each from an AQ 2200.1 on each at 1 ohm.

Im hearing a mechanical noise from one sub and not the other. Is this normal on breaking in heavy SPL subs like this?? (every sub I've had has been used so Ive never had to worry about break in time).

help me:crap:

And I didnt search cause I just didnt felel like it so there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

your running 2 AQ 2200's? were you playing songs with low notes? you should of tune alittle higher.

I know I should tune a little higher. and I played kayne west's love lockdown just to test and it did it a couple of times. sounded funny that is

ya its ported with one of my custom aero ports i make so il change it to 38 tomorrow if i get a chance but I thought lower tuning would be easier on it for a little time in order to break in

Do you mean you got a newly reconed set of HD3's?

I never heard any motor noise on my HD3's. Sounds like it's slightly off center or you dented the former slightly from over throw but with 600rms apiece it seems unlikely.

how do you know ur only getting 600rms each?

first make sure the screws are in tight and no air leaks. if still happens take the sub in question out and inspect the spider pack. then if that looks ok play low vol freeair and listen 4 noise...
