question: HU turns on then off then on then off then on th

I searched all over the place but can't find an answer, sorry if this has been posted already.

I'm installing a DEH 3000IB into a 01 4runner, got wiring info from 12volt all that. when i turn on the car, the stereo will try to turn on, then a second later turn off, then a second later turn on, then a second later turn off, and this would go on forever except i turned off the car.

I know its not the head unit because I tried exchanging the unit and reinstalling with the same results. I'm sure im missing something here but can you guys point me in the right direction?

Seems like u have may have the 12v Constant mixed with the Acc?

how do I figure out where the short circuit is? and what would cause that?
