Question for you youngins...

Ok - time for me to get with the 21st century. I want to get an I-pod or Zune, but I know nothing about them. Are they MP3 players? Is an MP3 just the file of a song? I really don't want to get a new head unit but I'm not sure if I can use mine. It's an old Alpine CDA-7977. It doesn't have an input jack on the front of it, is there any way I can use a player in my truck with this tuner? I don't need anything with videos, just songs while driving. Thanks for any help and/or advice.

anyways.. mp3 is just a file format... if u want to save id go with the zune however i think ipods are easier to work with,

you can get an fm transmitter that plugs into ur cig lighter. it will charge it and u can listen to ur songs on a certain fm station

an mp3 is a compressed type of audio file. The lower the bit rate, the more compression has taken place, and the worse the audio quality. However, at around 256 kbps, the difference between original and mp3 becomes inaudible on most types of music. You can google this info for a lot of information.

The ipod/zune plays these files. Pretty simple, really.

I am assuming that your radio does not have a line inoput in the back ....... So what I did with mine was buy a FM signal thing." I forgot what it was called" and it has a line input for cdwalkmans tape walkmans and Ipod.... All you have to do is tune to selected radio setting and there you have it. Works just about anywhere. and I think I still have mine.

Mine worked fine and it did not ****.
